Ten Wilmington places whose own sites name a patio, garden, beer garden or outdoor seating: downtown, the Cargo District, Midtown and Lumina Station.

Last checked Oct. 11, 2026. Refreshed every three months.

Outdoor dining in Wilmington clusters downtown, where a brewery beer garden, a courtyard garden, a taco shop’s backyard and an Irish pub at the Cotton Exchange sit within a few blocks of the river, and in the Cargo District, where a coffee roaster shares outdoor seating with a beer garden. In Midtown, a Thai and Vietnamese cafe and a barbecue restaurant have gardens and outdoor space, and a brunch spot at Lumina Station has a covered patio.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Wilmington’s city limits, the data that also feeds our local directory, plus places in the Downtown Wilmington dining directory. We listed only places whose own website names a patio, garden, beer garden or outdoor seating, checked on Oct. 11, 2026, and checked each address against the city limits with the U.S. Census Bureau’s address lookup. A place tagged with outdoor seating in OpenStreetMap whose own site does not say so is not here. The list is alphabetical. It is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it.
