Last checked Oct. 11, 2026. Refreshed every three months.

Barbecue inside Wilmington’s city limits sits mostly on Oleander Drive, where a family buffet and a smoked-meat restaurant are a few blocks apart, with a chain on South College Road and a chicken and barbecue restaurant on Patriot Way in Pine Valley. All four cater, and three of them are open seven days a week.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Wilmington’s city limits, the data that also feeds our local directory, plus the chains’ own store lists. We checked each one against its own website on Oct. 11, 2026, and checked each address against the city limits with the U.S. Census Bureau’s address lookup, so barbecue with a Wilmington mailing address in unincorporated New Hanover County, such as the Smithfield’s on Market Street in Ogden, is not here. The list is alphabetical. It is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it. Run one of these places? Write to us to correct your entry.
